For two consecutive years, I had the pleasure of handling the creative direction and execution of the launch videos for Avell’s professional notebook lines (HYB and ION) and gamer lines (Storm Two and Storm X), in addition to producing an invitation for the launch event featuring augmented reality.
The first video (HYB) presented a major challenge from the start: there are 4 notebooks with different appearances and configurations that needed to be showcased in just 40 seconds. With this in mind, I proposed to the client that the video focus on the product line rather than the individual products. In other words, we would show who the HYB line is intended for and highlight only the most relevant features of the line, such as lightness, thickness, and available technologies.
This productivity line primarily targeted architects and engineers, but also other users who needed high performance without being gamers. I then proposed timelapse scenes of environments featuring the notebook in themed settings reflecting these professions and uses: musicians, architects/interior designers, engineers, and casual use (amateur photography, spreadsheets, internet browsing).
As a visual guide for the HYB launch, the marketing department had provided a KV sketch that intended to use iridescent materials. Based on that, I proposed animated, colorful backgrounds for the notebook screens simulating the iridescent effect while balancing the overall video with minimalist backgrounds to avoid a cluttered look.
In the final scene of the video, we had to showcase the entire HYB notebook line. For that, I visited the company to photograph and take measurements of all the notebooks they had, and I requested photos and measurements from the factory for notebooks not yet in the store.
For the same launch, we created an interactive invitation using AR. We developed a web application activated through a QR code on the invitation, which, when scanned, allowed the user to view one of the notebook launches, enabling rotation and interaction with effects and animations by touching the screen.
The notebook was remodeled into a low-poly version, and the animations were created in 3Ds Max. The interaction was implemented using Unity.

Avell ION
In the second video, for the ION line, the concept I developed played with circular lines and spheres to simulate the functioning of an atom and somehow convey a feeling of lightness and technology.
The marketing department wanted to highlight the current hype of artificial intelligence, also considering that these notebooks featured the first Intel chips optimized for AI. With this in mind, I developed a playful scene simulating a generative AI tool (similar to Photoshop, but not necessarily Photoshop).
In this video, all simulations and dynamics (fabrics, lines, and spheres) were created using TyFlow in 3Ds Max.
